                "old_criteria_info": "Richard and Elizabeth Dean Scholarship\r\nThe Richard and Elizabeth Dean Scholarship awards two scholarships in the preferred amount of $5,000 each year for up to four consecutive years to graduating high school students. The selection process shall be based on academic merit with an initial minimum GPA of 4.0. Renewal is conditional upon maintenance of a GPA of 3.25.\r\n\r\nThis scholarship is renewable only after review and approval of the annual official transcript. Renewal transcript must be submitted to the Office of the Reporter General by July 1 of the year of renewal or the scholarship is forfeited.\r\n\r\nINSTRuCTIONS: Email the completed application packet to the national vice chair of the specific scholarship for which you are\r\napplying. The application packet must be complete and arranged in the order listed below. ALL original transcripts, letters of\r\nrecommendation and other required documents must be emailed to the national vice chair of the specific scholarship no later\r\nthan February 15 Midnight EST in a single email. The application is not to exceed 15 pages. A separate application must be\r\nsubmitted for each scholarship; incomplete applications will be not be considered. Photographs will result in disqualification\r\nand should not be included. Scholarships are judged and awarded without regard to gender, race, color, religion, national origin\r\nor disability. NOTE: Application must be typed or computer generated. Scholarship applicants selected as finalists will be contacted\r\nto provide a sealed official transcript, which will be sent to NSDAR headquarters.\r\nCHECK LIST:\r\no Scholarship Application (must be typed or computer generated – see box below).\r\no Statement of 1,000 words or less setting forth his/her career objectives (typed).\r\no Original transcript of high school (must indicate class rank, size, and test scores) or college grades (as applicable). Major must be indicated on\r\noriginal transcript where specific major required. Home schooled students include transcripts for grade 9 through current year must be sent\r\nwith application.\r\no All scholarships with a minimum grade point average (GPA) are based on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent GPA on the scale used by the applicable\r\neducational institution.\r\no Letters of recommendation (at least two but not to exceed four from high school or college now attending).
